Odie's Dilemma..

You don't have to blink to imagine Odie being kicked around the house, falling off tables and playing second fiddle to a cat! No offence, but this dog is certainly a rare specie. Not to mention his full and constant support to the Big Cat when it comes to pranks and other mischief.
Is Odie gullible?
Hmm, that's a toughie. Probably not. Mr. Davis has given the lovable Odie a lot of shades, which makes him stand out from the other characters! In his own ways, Odie is revengeful, but is mostly seen in connivance with Garfield when it comes to raising a storm in the house. Be it the donut, lasagna, ham sandwich, Odie is the faithful second- in command to Garfield to steal it or snatch it from Jon. Well, even Jon has his good days but that's another story.
I have enjoyed this comic strip ever since school days, when I wished a cat like Garfield would appear out of nowhere to get back at my teachers! Sometimes I wish the same when I'm working..BUT, that's another story!
I sometimes wonder if I have modelled my life on Odie, not consciously but the similarity is uncanny. As I write this post, I am acutely aware of the fact that a comic strip is an exaggeration of real life, but is real life not an exaggeration of a badly-done comedy? I wonder as I push my pencil even further. Are we living under a Big Cat's shadow? Maybe to some of us out there, this means nothing. And, to few others, it means falling off the table like a heap of Odies.
All hail!

Such a simple example but a lot of food for thought! "Are we living under a Big Cat's shadow?" Scary but true, I guess!
But anyway, Harold and Aditya make the best Odies and not you! :P
